In April 2006 we launched the Earsham Hall Memory
Revival. Thanks to local papers and radio we were
able
to ask the general public if they had any recollections
of Earsham Hall from the past, and would they be
prepared to share these with us and start to put together
a detailed social history of our unusual home.
The results have been wonderful. Not only were we inundated with communications from people locally, we were also surprised to hear from people who had links with the Hall from the other side of the world including Australia and New Zealand.
We have begun to realise that discovering all we can about Earsham Hall is almost a lifelong project in itself. However, the living memory social history always has time against it, as it is only alive with the help of those who are able to tell the stories.
We are delighted to say that the icing on the cake has been hearing from people who played together as children in the 1930s and 40s but have not seen each other since. We held a reception for all of those who have contributed and it also doubled up as a reunion!!
We know that there are still many more stories out there and we would be thrilled to hear from |
